At One Man and a Van Locksmith Services, we recently had the pleasure of helping a homeowner in Tampa, FL with a front door lock upgrade.
The customer called us because they wanted a new, secure handleset installed on their front door—but they also wanted it keyed to match the rest of the house, so they wouldn’t have to carry around multiple keys for different locks.
We started the job by removing the old hardware and preparing the door for the new lock installation. We installed a new and secure Dexter by Schlage handleset, which included a heavy-duty deadbolt for a better home security. As shown in the photos, the new hardware fits beautifully with the homeowner’s front door, offering excellent protection and very nice look.
In addition, the customer didn’t want to deal with multiple keys for different doors in the house, so we had to rekey the new deadbolt to match their existing house keys. This is a simple, very coomon but highly effective service we offer—especially for anyone who wants convenience without compromising on security.
In our mobile van, we carry a rekey kit and the tools needed to rekey locks on-site, regardless of the brand (Kwikset, Schlage, Defaint or more). As you can see in the photos, we took all the pins out and put the new ones back in to match the main key the customer wanted.
